Appraisal Certificate
An ACCREDITMARK Appraisal ensures a product meets all the relevant requirements of the New Zealand or Australian Building Codes, directly related to the use of the product. An Appraisal Certificate for a product or system is highly recommended as a means of demonstrating Building Code compliance. An Appraisal covers the full range of performance factors, that you need to consider. An Appraisal will give confidence to Regulatory Bodies, Building Consent Authorities and Building Officials during the building approval consent process. It is an important document that will be respected by all vested and interested parties.
You will find an ACCREDITMARK Appraisal Application form which gives guidance as to the information ACCREDITMARK will need.
Complete the application and supply as much of the information as you can. If you have any gaps, these will be discussed with you later.
-
A sample of your product will also help.
-
ACCREDITMARK will then review the information you have provided and do some of its own investigations.
· In most cases we will require an initial payment. There will also be a fee for developing the Evaluation Plan (the criteria against which your product will be assessed).

TECHNICAL LITERATURE

The Technical documentation is a very important consideration for ensuring your product or system is used correctly. This information is usually referenced by the Appraisal and therefore must be factually correct. ACCREDITMARK Appraisals will thoroughly check the literature as part of the Appraisal process.

ACCREDITMARK APPRAISAL

INFORMATION COLLECTION
This is where testing reports are supplied, expert opinions prepared, factory/manufacture, site visit audits and technical literature reviewed. An ACCREDITMARK Appraisal Project Manager (PM) will work with all parties, for example with those doing the testing and giving the expert opinions. It is not unusual for there to be issues that cause delays due to the complexity of the work relating to the product or system. ACCREDITMARK will keep you informed at all stages and will work to manage this part as efficiently as possible. To help us do this, we require your assistance in responding promptly to our requests for information and making decisions.
FORMAL APPRAISAL

This is the formal process where all the testing, opinions, inspections and information are verified against the evaluation criteria. At this stage you will be given a draft Appraisal to comment and approve and Official Record which includes information on your product and the ongoing Appraisal Validity. Once issued the ACCREDITMARK Appraisal is uploaded on our official register on the ACCREDITMARK website (www.accreditmark.org).

QUALITY – RISK MANAGEMENT

The relative quality of products supplied to the market is a very important aspect in ensuring confidence. For an ACCREDITMARK Appraisal we require that there are adequate quality systems in place. ACCREDITMARK will audit and inspect the manufacturing procedures, depending on the associated risk and any Certified quality system in place.

APPRAISALS AGREEMENT OF SERVICES
